The Hyde Park Neighborhood Association and the Historic Hyde Park Homes Tour depend on volunteers. Please consider joining your neighbors in working together to create an amazing homes tour and neighborhood association!

House Tour Docent–Sunday, November 12 with one additional meeting prior to the tour

  • House Tour Docents help guide visitors through the house and are assigned a “station” where they can share interesting historical, architectural, or restoration tidbits.
  • Volunteer shifts are 2 hours long (approximately 11-1; 1-3; 3-5) and volunteers receive a free ticket to the tour.
  • There will be a 1-2 hour orientation at the house a week (or more) before the tour and you will be provided with all you need to know!

Tour Headquarters Volunteer–Sunday, November 12

  • Tour Headquarters Volunteers¬†help check tour-goers in, sell tickets, distribute armbands and tour booklets.
  • Volunteer shifts are 2 hours long (approximately 11-1; 1-3; 3-5) and volunteers receive a free ticket to the tour.

House Tour Support–varies in the weeks leading up to the tour

  • House Tour Support¬†involves everything from running errands during daytime business hours (e.g., dropping off the street banner at parks headquarters, setting up homes tour yard signs) to making docent name tags and delivering posters and other promotional materials to locations around Austin.
  • Volunteer time can be as little as an hour to as much time as you can spare; volunteers receive a free ticket to the tour.
